Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 9: Oh No You Didn't...

Road Trip!  Traveled out to 148th & Metcalf club last night to meet Jon.  Again, walking into the unknown, I show up super early.  The 6:15 class was still in session and not a crowd of people waiting for a bag.  I'm kinda liking this!

I was able to get set and get a good stretch in of most all of my muscles.  In addition, Jon did an awesome job at getting us stretched and ready.  My muscles were thanking him.  I was super pumped last night and actually not feeling too bad for being day 9.  We started running the exterior and on the second lap, I turned the corner and felt a strong pain in my left Hammie.  Seriously muscle, oh no you didn't!!  I continued around the track at a slower pace and trying not to freak myself out.  I knew there would be obstacles to overcome and am willing to do whatever it takes.

Jon's overall workout was energizing.  He did switch things up pretty quickly, so I was able to sustain doing everything.  It was a small class, so he was able to give lots of TLC to each of us.  It's always a bit nerve racking when a trainer approaches you with the practice punching mitts.  When you are singled out to punch and not lose track of what the heck you are suppose to be doing takes total focus on my part.  Once I started punching and was able to follow his direction, all was calm.

After we did all the punching combinations, we lined up in the lanes with a medicine ball.  We did different drills while holding the ball above our heads with lounges and leap frog motions.  One gal and I were shared a lane and was encouraging to exchange smiles as we passed each other going down and back through the lane.  On the last run, she was building momentum and ended up catching me.  It was all I had to stay ahead of her and not look like a wimp!  I was sure to tell her thanks for pushing me to go faster.  That is what I really love about going to Title.  The camaraderie is just amazing!  I might never see her again, but we both drew motivation from each other.  Nobody cares if you can't do each command just perfectly.  We are all just there to sweat, lose weight, feel healthy, and be thankful for making it through another workout:)

Pic w/Jon after he realizes I'm not a stalker!
After class I spent some time stretching out the questionable muscle.  Then, caught up with Jon to ask for a pic.  I always wonder if they are thinking....OK, Stalker..Why do you need a pic of me and you all drenched in sweat?  Once I explain what I am trying to do, then it feels a little less stalkerish.

The muscle feels a little better today after stretching it on the "magic" foam roller I have at home.  That thing is a miracle worker!  I originally got it when I had an IT Band injury from running.  I continue to use it on any sore muscles I have or just lay on it to stretch out my spine and relax.

Hubby and I chuckled last night about me having to shut down the blog after 9 days...That is just NOT going to happen.  As the man, Bret Michaels sings..."You gotta cry tough...out on the streets...to make your dreams happen."

Jon~ Great workout!  I hope to see you over at The 7-6 in the future!

Today...Stretch, H2O, and protein!  See you tonight 87th club!
