Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 25: Still Alive

Out the door at 5:39 and in route to 148th to catch Art's 6a class.  After last nights shake up and not enough sleep, I forgot to call to confirm the trainer.  So, I'm in my car with a dead cell phone plugged in waiting for the light to show a sign of life.  Plan was to try to call 148th on the way and if trainer was no dice, then get on the horn to 121st.  Alemeo is listed on their Thurs 6a time slot, so that was my back-up plan.  Just waiting for cell phone to give me some hope and finally I see the go light!  I am approaching Lamar & College, so need to make a quick decision for direction.  I called the 148th club to ask if Art will be the trainer today.  I hear...No....it will be Paige.  I started breathing again and hit the gas pedal to continue on to 148th.  Yes!  I think Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam says it best....

I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey I, but, I'm still alive

Yeah I, ooh, I'm still alive

6a Greatness!  Becky ~ Paige
At each stop light, I continue to wrap my hands.  I'm actually getting pretty good at it while on the move:)  I knew I would be arriving right at Go time, so wanted to be as ready as I could.  I arrive and walked through the door and they are just starting to warm-up.  Just made it!  I quickly look for Paige since I have no idea who she is.  I see this blonde girl with long, beautiful curly locks of hair.  After the second lap, I see James getting geared up to come take some hits with us.  I am just emotionally, as well as physically drained but keep moving with one foot in front of the other.  I was hoping I wouldn't get tripped up on the side shuffle while in my daze.

Paige's workout was definitely more perky than I could even imagine being at 6 a.m.  I just felt like I was in the twilight zone and moving in slow motion.  I've definitely hit another wall, but how do I pull myself back up?  I continue with the workout and get a pretty good sweat going.  I think Paige did a good job with giving direction as she would float from front to back to demonstrate punch combos.  Each time I would hit the bag it was like someone was pulling my arms in the opposite direction.  Both shoulders were tight and just wanted a break.  I did slow up a bit, but didn't stop.  Wouldn't the pain just be forgotten and go away after awhile?

When the workout was done, James was waiting to take our pic before I even asked.  I had already bugged him several times to capture all the other trainers.  Every time I'm there, he is there!  I wonder if he sleeps?  I appreciate the support while visiting the club.  They have made me feel right at home.

Paige ~ Thanks for saving the day so I can continue my streak!  I think I need some tips to still look amazing after a 6a workout:)

James ~You Rock!  Thanks for encouraging me every time I see you!!
