Day 5: Let's Get Ready to Ruuummmmbbbllle

Dusty @ 119th & Metcalf was like a ring announcer this morning with his deep powerful famous sounding voice.  His workout was fast and furious and had no problem hearing his commands in the back row.  I think I will call him the "Interval King."

As I rolled up to the 119th club at 5:45, I notice a big white van piled with people inside.  My first thought was I better beat these peeps inside and get a bag!  I prefer the bags in the back row at this club because there is tons of room behind you so you don't kick someone in the face when doing mountain climbers.  I had no idea how crowded the a.m. class would be as lately it's been wall to wall people at The 7-6.  As I was stretching, I started chatting with the gal on the bag next to me, Mary Lynn.  She happens to work at the Title corporate office and was hosting a group of potential Title Boxing owners (aka the peeps I had to beat to the bag.) The group was attending the workout to gain a sense of reality and burn some serious calories.

Back to Dusty's workout style...We did 4 rounds of boxing with running a lap in between.  Everything he did was for about 15 - 30 seconds, hence the "interval."  So, if you are challenged at something, the fast switch is comforting.  Also, I have to say I really appreciated the music choices.  It wasn't all dance techno stuff that my kids listen to.  It was a good mix with bit heavier music style, which I like.  He even broke out some Eminem today.  Who would not get pumped up listening to "Lose Yourself"??  I was hitting that bag like I was busting out of the trailer park and kickin A at a rapping contest.

I liked Dusty's pace, intensity, positive encouragement, and music!   I will be back one day:) In fact, I was so pumped up after leaving there I was ready to get in the ring.  Well, the corporate ring for me today.  The minivan was rockin all the way to the salt mine with Helmet, Alice in Chains, and Buck Cherry.  I think my cubie office neighbors were a bit annoyed when I came in listening to music and singing loud while doing shadow boxing and killer dance moves:)  I wondered if anyone would mind if I put my work station on hydraulics so I could stand and dance while I was working on the world's greeting card solutions.

Thanks Dusty for getting me fired up today!!  I've heard with interval training you can continue burning calories for the next 24 hours afterwards...Something will be burning for sure!

Weekend Schedule~~
