After only 5 hours of sleep, the alarm was not my friend today. But, I AM committed to accomplishing this goal! So, I headed out to the 119th club to catch Lindsey's 6am Boxing class and put #8 to rest. I was getting spoiled by not having to bundle up in the a.m. but it was cold today. While eating my Coconut Luna bar (my fave energy before a workout), I squealed the minivan tires around corners to make it on time. Surely listening to Paul Wall's, "Heart of a Hustler" is enough to pump anyone up in the morning? Every time I listen to it...I think of Bigg Ron at The 7-6!

| Steel Panther!! I have seen their show only 3x:) |
Music is definitely a motivator, especially when getting up to go sweat before the sun comes up! I listen to music when I get up, while driving to work, at work, on the way home, in the evening (sometimes preteen stuff that I wouldn't choose), and while working out. So, pretty much just not when I'm sleeping. My mood sets the stage for what tunes I like to hear. My Ipod is a diverse festival from 80s Hair Bands to Old School and new School rap, Alternative, Country (from growing up in S E Kansas), 90s Grunge, a bit heavier like Metallica & Drowning Pool, and even humorous stuff such as Tenacious D &....Steel Panther...Not everybody knows about the
awesomeness of Steel Panther! Apparently nobody in class today, as "Death to All But Metal" was playing, Lindsey asked if we liked that music. Everyone but me was looking around wondering what the song even was and the consensus was NO! So, just as I was getting pumped up listening to Micheal Starr bust out some 80s glam rock, the music was switched to the "typical" dance techno stuff. I wonder what my play list would look like if I were the DJ? Hmmm...
Lindsey was super laid back today. The workout schedule she had was doable and I got some good power punches in. I'm not sure if that is her usual style or because she's getting ready to have a major hip surgery next week. I could hear her talking to some of the regular peeps about the details. Either way, it was a blessing to my lack of sleep and sore muscles!
