Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 14: You Just Never Know..

My conquest today was L.C. @ 121st & State Line.  As I entered the club, I asked at the desk, "L.C. on the schedule today?"  I was glad to have this confirmed, as I didn't call in advance this time.  As I made my way to a bag, I see a few familiar faces from The 7-6.  I didn't know their names, but gave them a "Hey" as they looked my way.  One approached me to let me know they were just discussing my blog.  She went on to say how much she liked reading it and has motivated her to branch out with her workouts.  This was her first time to attend a class @ 121st, so she was living on the edge today:)  I then was able to put a name with a face as she introduced herself as Kim.

In addition, I met Sally, who is a newer member @ The 7-6 with 30 days under her belt.  Sally told me that she recently started reading my blog from the beginning to see all the progression.  I got goosebumps when she told me that she copied the Eminem lyrics I had referenced on Day 5 and posted to her Facebook for motivation.  Wow!!  Wow!!  I was just speechless to know that my music obsession had made such an impact!  The 3rd person in  the group was Kevin, who I've seen quite a bit and is always sure to chat it up.  You can tell he has a true passion, and must be super tough as he is a regular in Christian's class @ The 7-6.

As the workout started, I felt compelled to move over and join the peeps from The 7-6.  We were banding together to take on L.C!  The one thing that sticks with me is L.C. spending time telling us how important it was to turn in & twist on punches and kicks.  He explained how boxing is a way to really improve your core.  That was music to my ears as a female and a Mom who always struggles with the mid-section!  I probably knew this already, but calling attention to it, made me focus even more.

L.C.'s format was called Learn & Burn.  One round really focused on your technique, followed up by a power round of punch/kick combos.  It actually felt good to run a lap between rounds to catch my breath as a rest period.  That sounds really crazy that running is resting, but it works!

When L.C. put us with partners is where I was really tested.  One would hold the bag while the other person threw 30 hard & fast jabs.  Then, continue switching back and forth for about 6 rounds.  I kept breathing and punching as I was slowing down each time.  My partner was just killing the bag and she kept encouraging me to keep going.  My arms were Jello!  We both told each other great job as we took off running again.  Such an awesome thing when you are really struggling!!

Today I felt challenged by L.C. and overwhelmed with hearing about the effects of the blog.

L.C.~ Thanks for reminding me about the true fundamentals of what I love!  The workout was well worth the drive!

The 7-6 Peeps~ You guys rocked today!  You have to keep going as YOU just never know who you will inspire.

As I drove home today, my music choice was Seal, "Crazy" as a few tears gathered in my eyes.

But we're never gonna survive unless...
We get a little crazy.
No we're never gonna survive unless...
We are a little..
Crazy..
No no, never survive, unless we get a little...bit..

In a world full of people, only some want to fly,
Isn't that crazy?
