Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 21: Sunday Inspiration

I got to cross paths with David at his Kickboxing class @ 148th & Metcalf club at 10a today.  My muscles were a little stiff today, but felt pretty good overall after enduring Mary's Kickboxing yesterday!  When I go to the club, it was already hopping.  I had never seen this many people at a class there before.  Almost every bag was full.  I asked another member if it was always this busy on Sundays?  Her response was, "For David's time slot it is and sometimes hard to get a bag."  This was encouraging news...He must be a rock star and have quite the following!

As the class started, David introduced himself to me.  He asked if this was my first time, as I wasn't a familiar face around there.  I said, "First time for you."  David started jumping around and getting pumped up to the heavy tunes that were being belted out.  I was so excited and hoping the music would continue on the same path.  Fortunately,  it did!  Eminem, Marilyn Manson, Kid Rock and Saliva?  Cool!

A little David Inspiration on a Sunday Morning:)
I felt the warm-up was energizing and got you totally pumped to take on the bag.  Once we started with punching combos, David approached my bag.  He said, "I like your punches...you are doing good."  I said something like..Well, on a good day :)  Then, his reply was, "If that was a punch to the chin, someone would know it."  As Josie Scott of Saliva was screaming..."Ladies and Gentleman please."  It was just the bag and me with my heavy metal focus.  "Welcome to the show....Please come inside."  "Boom! Do you want it? Boom! Do you need it?  Boom! Let me hear it!"

I told David that his music was definitely a good change instead of all dance stuff.  He said, "I prefer to play what gets me pumped up!"  I couldn't wait to tell hubby about his style and music.  He would be totally in!

I thought his class was a challenge, but his style was so energizing that you didn't realize it.  My buns were definitely burning while doing the standing fire hydrant.  This is where you turn sideways and brace yourself with one arm on the bag.  Then, you go back and forth between high and low round house kicks.  I'm talkin smokin!  Like Ryan @ The 7-6 says, "You will have butts for days!"

After class, I approached David to tell him about my mission and take a pic.  I told him that I went to Mary's class yesterday and he told me about their history.  He was Mary's personal trainer and encouraged her to become a trainer.  I loved Mary's class and could see that he gave her the gift of a really powerful foundation.  You can tell they both totally love what they do!

David, thanks for setting me up with such an energizing start to my 2nd half!!  I can see that you inspire the lives you are changing everyday!
