Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 12: That's What Friends Are For!

The girls getting ready to hit it!  Becky~Linda~Andrea~Jamie
My friends motivated me today to get out of bed today to go sweat at the 87th club.  Again, I got to bed later than planned.  Even when I tell myself that rest is an important part of this plan, there is always something to catch up on.  My friend, Linda, called me yesterday to let me know that she caught up on my blog postings and wanted to go with me today.  I was so excited, so I knew my feet had to hit the floor and ready when she arrived to pick me up.  When her jeep hit my driveway, she had already picked Andrea up, so our buddy system of motivation was in full swing.  Both ladies have been absent from the boxing arena for a bit, so getting them back in action puts a huge smile on my face!

We pulled up to the to the dark building and noticed another car waiting for the doors to open next to us.  The guy in the car was totally jamming out and getting pumped up!  This got us fired up!  We were listening to our music and getting mentally prepared for this grand adventure that awaited us.  None of us knew anything about Ellie, the trainer, but were willing to give it our best shot.

As we were entering the building, our friend, Jamie was also arriving to join our Friday excursion.  Once we got settled, I asked Ellie to take a pic of our group.  I wanted to capture this moment and truly appreciated my friends supporting me.  My hope was that they too, would find something to take away for themselves.

OK, I just had to know the story of the guy in the car.  So, I approached him to let him know that he was getting us pumped up, too!  I had seen him the previous morning at the club also, so he must be some hard core gym rat!  I now know him as JR and he can rock like nobody's business!  I also wanted to know what he was listening to, so I could get some of that!  His reply was, "Don't remember but anything 93.3 plays will do it."

We started warming up and heard JT belting out "I'm Bringing Sexy Back."  Very appropriate song for my friends getting back in the saddle!  That is exactly what we were bringing back...along with a sense of accomplishment, self confidence, feeling healthy, and just plain fun!

Doesn't Ellie look sweet?  Don't be fooled!:)
Ellie was also wearing the mic today.  It is such a great idea and we could hear her regardless of where we were located.  She was just adorable!  She had a sweetness to her that gave you a feeling of rainbows and unicorns......Then, she would drop the hammer and you would never see it coming!  She REALLY mixed it up for me and at times I wondered how I could continue.  I thought, well what if I just slack for a minute...maybe she won't notice.  No such luck as she was all over the place, so that was not an option.  Her positive encouragement was definitely a driving force today.  Along with my friends who got out of bed today and made the decision to give it their best.

On the way home, we all laughed as we saw a guy dressed as a donut dancing around to try to drum up some biz.  That could have made for an interesting ending to this venture...but we all just stayed strong!

Note for future:  Don't ever tell Ellie it's your birthday...Her gift to you is Birthday BURPIES!

JR~ Thanks for getting us pumped!
Ellie~ Thanks for helping us feel strong today!
The Girls~ Thanks for keeping me going!
