I got to meet Joel @ 87th Lenexa club tonight. While I was getting wrapped and ready to go, I notice some newbies at the desk getting signed up. I remember when I first decided to take the plunge to sign up for Title...I felt excited, nervous, and anxious to start seeing results. I thought about how they must be feeling and having no idea what to expect. I've been reliving that feeling a lot lately, as I have been traveling around and crossing trainers off my list.
Joel was tough from the word GO! Usually I feel relieved when I make it though something challenging for me like squats, berpies and apparently hopping on 1 leg. Well, little did I know, Joel likes to repeat the circuits again. No matter how hard I tried, I struggled to maintain my usual intensity. For some reason, the sweat was just dripping off me like never before. Maybe I had broken through some barrier? Like some weird muscles that had never been touched before? And that was just the warm up!

Now, it was time to hit the bag. OK, this is something I feel comfortable with and really like to go for it. My arms were moving in what felt like slow motion. I just didn't have my usual bounce and again the sweat was continuing to make puddles all around me. I know it was a little more humid in there than normal, but Wow! The sweat was running into my eyes, which made it difficult to see. My skin was completely soaked like I just jumped out of the pool. I had to stop for a water break and to wipe my face, but was determined to stick with it. I tried to keep my mind off the struggle, as Joel laughed about us burning calories in advance for the upcoming St. Paddy's Day festivities:)
After the ab work was done, the area around me looked like a murder scene! I definitely got my money's worth with this workout! I was glad to make it through and was definitely thinking about having a GREEN beer!
Joel ~ Whatever you did, it worked!!
