Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, one moment
Would you capture it?
Or just let it slip

Day 29: Love Handles

On my way to Olathe and felt good about confirmation of Blydell as the trainer.  I just wasn't exactly sure about location, so it's always a little nerve racking to make sure I arrive on time.  Traffic was on my side, so only about 22 minutes travel time.

As we were getting settled, Blydell made the rounds to welcome everyone.  That is always a good feeling, especially in an unfamiliar place.  I meet Ashley, who was boxing next to me.  This was only her 3rd class and was already in love.  After having a baby 6 mos ago, she was ready to get fit!  She told me she already felt better after only a few sessions.  I was really happy for her for finding this outlet, as I remember what I felt like after childbirth.

Blydell was very jolly throughout class.  He gave instructions while dancing, singing, and had a contagious smile.  At times, he reminded me of a cartoon character with some of his facial expressions.  The hour did not go without challenges for me.  Between EVERY punch combo, we would do push-ups, squats, burpies, jumping jacks and other drills.

Hangin in Olathe with Blydell
Before we started ab work, we played musical jumping jacks.  While music was on we were throwing power punches.  When music was turned off, then did jumping jacks while counting out like we were shouting from a rooftop.  If it wasn't loud enough, then we would continue with jacks.  In the final round, we starting counting 10, 20, 30, 40 jacks.  I think everyone was just looking at Blydell while he was pacing the floor smiling and shaking his head, like it was music to his ears.  We continued...50, 60, 70.  As everyone is looking around at each other, I think to myself..are we going to bust out 100?  The answer was absolutely!  We hit 100!  Our reward....We got to take off our gloves and grab a med ball.  Oh, and our legs realizing we did 100 jacks on top off all the previous rounds!

On to the next challenge..ABS!  When he said this is for the obliques, I could really feel something moving.  I think these are the love handle exercises.  Sweet!  Maybe I'm finally figuring out how to do this correctly?  So long love handles!!

As I left the parking lot jamming out to Alice In Chains, I had to pass by the temptation called Chipolte.  I was starving after my marathon of jacks, but decided that would not do any favors for the love handles:)  So, decided to just hit the road back to The OP.
